About Playtoob
A calmer way to watch what you actually chose.
Playtoob is a YouTube companion for people who already know what they want to watch. Instead of pushing recommendations, it keeps your chosen channels, collections, and videos in a cleaner space.
Why it exists
YouTube is an incredible library, but the default experience is built for engagement. Playtoob was created to give that control back to the viewer: no algorithmic pressure, no endless suggestions, and no fighting the interface just to reach the channels you already trust.
That matters even more for families. Many parents want approved watching rather than platform-driven discovery. Playtoob lets them build those boundaries intentionally.
Who made it
Playtoob was created by Dr. Devrim Vardar and developed in Finland. It is an independent product shaped by real daily use, especially around focused watching and safer family viewing.
The project is also personal. Building tools that protect attention feels more important when life includes work, children, and the constant tug-of-war over screens. Playtoob reflects that perspective.
The philosophy
Playtoob is not trying to replace YouTube. It is trying to improve how people reach the parts of YouTube they already value. The goal is simple: watch what you love, not what you are fed.
- Follow creators deliberately.
- Organize channels into useful collections.
- Watch in a simpler interface across phone, tablet, desktop, and TV.
- Give parents a more controlled setup for children.
Where it is going
Playtoob continues to evolve around three ideas: calmer viewing for everyday users, approved watching for families, and better public pages for creators who want a cleaner home for their audience.
