A little more than a week ago, President Trump declared that the renovation work being done to the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall had been completed. But parts of the pool, which Trump boasted would be clean, beautiful and blue, are now green from new algae blooms.

Workers have been trying to clear the algae ahead of July 4th celebrations. It’s not clear if that will work.
